Windows 11 is up for its first beta release

Those enrolled in Windows Insiders can now switch to beta version

Windows 11 is up for its first beta release

The users enrolled in the Windows Insider Program will now be able to download the first beta version of Windows 11. Till now, the users were getting the Dev preview, which Microsoft itself categorizes for “highly technical users”. The new beta release is, however, more user-friendly and it is being validated by Microsoft.

For installing the beat release, a compatible computer is a must. To find out this, Microsoft has given an article on preparing for Insider builds. There is a system requirements page and there you can find if your system is compatible or not. To install the beta release for people who installed the Dev preview, go to settings, click on Windows Update, select Windows Insider Program and then Choose your Insider Settings.

The Windows Insider Twitter account confirms that for a limited period people can switch from Dev to Beta and it won’t require a complete OS re-install. You can register even now for Microsoft’s beta program. Microsoft confirms that its beta program is more stable than the Dev preview. Microsoft has identified some bugs and is currently working on them as the company confirms in its blog post.
