In a move that will excite Apple users, WhatsApp has officially launched its standalone app for iPads. The new app brings a host of powerful features including video and audio calls with up to 32 participants, screen sharing, and support for both front and rear cameras eliminating the need to rely on the browser-based version.
iPad users can now enjoy seamless multitasking with iPadOS tools like Stage Manager, Split View, and Slide Over. These features enable users to chat while browsing, research while on a group call, or manage multiple apps simultaneously, all without switching screens.
The app also supports accessories such as the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard, enhancing productivity and user experience. WhatsApp ensures that all messages, calls, and media remain protected with its end-to-end encryption, maintaining user privacy across devices.
With this update, conversations and media stay synced across iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other linked devices, offering a more integrated experience. The dedicated iPad version is now available for download on the App Store.
Meanwhile, Meta is reportedly working on an iPad app for Instagram as well, hinting at a broader focus on Apple’s tablet ecosystem.
