WhatsApp is introducing a set of new creative features for its popular Status feature, giving users more ways to express themselves through photos, music, and interactive stickers. Much like Instagram and Facebook Stories, WhatsApp Status lets users share updates in the form of text, images, or videos, which automatically disappear after 24 hours.

Building on recent updates, users will soon be able to:

  • Add Collages: A new Layout option will allow users to create a collage with up to six images in a single status update, arranged in a customizable format.
  • Post Music as Stickers: While WhatsApp already allows short music clips to be added to photo and video statuses (15 seconds for photos, 60 seconds for videos), the latest update takes it a step further. These music snippets can now be shared as animated stickers or even posted independently as a status.
  • Use Interactive “Add Yours” Stickers: A new sticker format called Add Yours will encourage engagement by inviting friends to respond with their own photos on a given theme or topic.
  • Turn Photos Into Stickers: Users can now convert their own images into stickers, with the flexibility to resize, crop, and customize them before posting.

These new features aim to make WhatsApp Status more interactive and visually engaging—especially appealing to Indian users who frequently use Status for personal updates, celebrations, and business promotions.

Meta has announced that these enhancements will begin rolling out soon and will gradually become available to all WhatsApp users worldwide in the coming months.
