A lite version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 has been rumored for some time now, and the new device has officially been launched in China, as spotted by SamMobile. Instead of being known simply as the Galaxy S8 Lite, Samsung has opted for a mouthful of “Galaxy S Light Luxury.” The new phone is a trimmed down version of Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S8 device specs wise, but still retains the same design, physical and awkwardly positioned fingerprint scanner. The 5.8-inch “infinity” display has a 18.5:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution, and inside there’s a Snapdragon 660 chip (the S8 has a Snapdragon 835 chip), 4GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage. The front camera and rear cameras boast 8 megapixels and 16 megapixels respectively, and the phone has IP68 water and dust resistance, Samsung Pay, wireless charging, facial recognition, a 3,000mAh battery, and an iris scanner. The S Light Luxury also runs on Android Oreo.

The phone is available from Chinese online shopping site JD.com, for ¥3999 (about $626) and comes in both black and red options. If you’re early, you can pre-order it until June 1st for ¥3699 (around $579). There’s no word yet on if and when this handset will be released globally.
