Samsung ties up with The Commons Project Foundation to store COVID-19 vaccination proof on Galaxy phones

Samsung phones can now store COVID-19 proof. This feature will be added with the help of the Commons Project Foundation on Galaxy smartphones with the help of Samsung Pay. It will require the users to link to their vaccine provider’s account with the CommonHealth app from the foundation. It will then be connected to Samsung Pay on the user’s phone.

COVID-19 vaccination proof is now a must for going out. It has become essential for employees to return to offices and even dine out. Vaccination proof is now available in the form of a paper card. It can be easily tampered with, damaged, or lost. Some apps which claimed to provide the vaccine ‘passport’ have become quite controversial. But such apps allow a convenient way to carry proof of vaccination with all the necessary details.

CommonHealth app is part of the Commons Project Foundation. The apps allow easy linking to different health care providers, pharmacies, and others. Once linked to such services, it will be easy for the user to store all the immunization records. With the collaboration with Samsung Pay, it will allow Galaxy smartphones users to carry an authentic digital version of their vaccination certificate. The contents will also be displayed as a QR code that allows quick scanning at places where such technology is supported. The feature will be added to phones with Samsung Pay in the coming weeks.
