Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 Series and Galaxy Buds 2 launched

The devices unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event are finally coming out in India. The devices Samsung launched in India today include Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, and Galaxy Buds 2. On the material front, Galaxy Watch 4 is made of aluminum, and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is made of stainless steel. Galaxy Watch 4 comes in 40mm and 44mm size variants, while Watch 4 Classic comes in 42mm and 46mm variants. The newly launched Galaxy Buds 2 has an active noise cancellation feature. 

The Bluetooth-only model of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 has a price tag of Rs.23,999 for the 40mm variant and the 44mm model has a price tag of Rs.26,999. As for the LTE model, it is Rs. 28,999 for the 40mm model and Rs. 31,999 for the 44mm model. The available colour options are Black, Pink Gold, and Silver for the 40 mm variant of Galaxy Watch 4 and Black, Green, and Silver for the 44mm variant.

The Bluetooth-only model of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic has a price tag of Rs. 31,999 for the 42mm variant and Rs. 34,999 for the 46mm variant. The LTE model will be priced at Rs. 36,999 and Rs.39,999 respectively. It will come in Black and Silver colour options. Samsung has offered Graphite, Lavender, Olive Green, and White colour options for the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2. It is priced at Rs. 11,999. The pre-bookings of all three devices will begin on August 30 with the sale starting on September 10th. It will be available on Samsung.com and other popular online and offline retailers in India. 

On the specifications front, both the smartwatches run on One UI Watch 3 based on Wear OS. It has Exynos W920 SoC with 1.5GB RAM. The internal storage is 16GB on both devices. As for the display Galaxy Watch 4 (40mm) and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (42mm) has a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 396x396px. The Galaxy Watch 4 (44mm) and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (46mm) will feature 1.4-inch AMOLED displays. All these displays will be protected by Gorilla Glass DX. The Galaxy Watch 4 (40mm) and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (42mm) will have 247mAh batteries.

Galaxy Watch 4 (44mm) and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (46mm) have 361mAh batteries. Both models will have options for heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) tracking, sleep analysis, fall detection, tracking of menstrual cycles, and electrocardiogram (ECG) support. The device is IP68-rated in terms of water resistance. The smartwatches have the following connectivity options- 4G LTE (optional), dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, GPS/ Glonass/ Beidou/ Galileo, and NFC. The devices will be compatible with devices running on Android 6.0 and later with more than 1.5GB of RAM. The devices will also have support for Samsung Pay and Google Pay services.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is expected to have a battery life of 29 hours when used with the charging case. When ANC is enabled the battery life will be reduced to 20 hours. On a single charge, it will offer up to 7.5 hours of playback. It has a 61mAh battery on each earpiece and the case comes with a 472mAh battery. On five minutes of charging users are expected to receive one hour of playback. The device will also support Qi wireless charging. The sensors on the device include an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, hall sensor, touch sensor, and voice pickup unit (VPU). It is IPX7-rated for splash and water resistance. Each earbud has a tweeter and a woofer. Two out of the three microphones on the earbud will be used for ANC. The company has added support for AKG-tuned audio and Bluetooth v5.2. The six equaliser settings offered on the earbuds can be adjusted from the paired phone.
