Huawei has launched its flagship device Ascend P7, successor to the last year’s Ascend P6. This device fills a major gap of Ascend P6, that is LTE. Ascend P7 also features a bigger display and a bigger 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Getting into the specifications, it features a 5-inch Full HD 1080p display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 at front and back to protect it from daily wear and tear. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Huawei’s HiSilicon Krin 910T quad-core Cortex-A9 processor paired with Mali 450 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The phone boasts an internal memory of 16GB, which can be expanded up to 32GB using microSD card.

On the camera front, the Ascend P7 comes with a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera has a BSI sensor and 5-pieces lens with an f/2.0 aperture that can take wide-angle photos and IMAGESmart 2.0 software which is useful for auto-facial enhancements. It has some additional shooting modes, including panoramic group photo mode, and some photo editing features. There are also options like audio snapshot, where you can take 10 seconds of ambient noise to accompany each image, and the ability to add text and watermarks to your pictures.

The Ascend P7 comes with the company’s Emotion UI 2.3 that wraps Android 4.4 KitKat beneath it. The phone’s UI brings visual improvements and flatter app icons along with an updated Do Not Disturb mode and new power saver mode. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS and NFC. The phone gets the juice from a 2,500mAh battery. Huawei Ascend P7 will be available in black, white and pink color variants at a price of €449 (Rs 37,525) from this month itself in China. There is no word on when Huawei will launch the device outside of China.
