Clubhouse made a spectacular entrance into the social networking space recently. The app has pressured other social media giants to create a similar platform exclusively for audio chats. Clubhouse has audio chatrooms where people can enter and listen, speak or host an audio-based conversation. Since these are called chatrooms, the platform is adding a feature that will make it sound more like a room. The feature will now be enabled only on Clubhouse app for iOS. The company has begun the rollout of spatial audio support on the iOS app. This will ensure a lively conversation. The company claims that now the participants will not only identify the speaker based on their voice but also based on where their voice is coming from.
The company has planned a slow rollout. So, everyone will not get it together. However, since the rollout has started it will soon be available to everyone. The feature will be added as a default feature and can be turned off if the user doesn’t prefer it. The company has stated that the support will be added to Android devices soon. The feature will be available on any wired or wireless headphones. But the feature will be restricted in Bluetooth audio due to technical limitations. The company is working on it and is expected to clear it soon.
The new feature will give it more preference than Facebook’s Live Audio Rooms or Twitter Spaces. It will also bring in a more immersive experience to the chatrooms in Clubhouse.
