Asus has unveiled a new laptop mainly focusing on students. The new Asus Chromebook Detachable CZ1 comes with a detachable keyboard and a flip stand on the back. It has stylus support that is built inside the laptop. The important feature of this laptop is its military-grade toughness that can withstand a fall from a classroom desk or the dining table. The corners and edges are protected by a tough rubber trim which can effectively reduce the shocks.
The company has not announced details on pricing and availability. It will be available in a single Black colour finish. It runs on Chrome OS and has a 10.1-inch full-HD LCD WUXGA touchscreen display, with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 100 percent sRGB, and 400 nits of peak brightness. It is powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 500 processor, along with Arm Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It has 4GB RAM and up to 128GB eMMC storage. A USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack are provided on the laptop.
The keyboard is detachable and features a 1.5mm key-travel and an ErgoLift design that makes typing comfortable. The laptop also has inbuilt dual 5-magnet stereo speakers and a microphone and also supports Google Assistant voice recognition.
The back camera present is an 8-megapixel camera and the front camera features a 2-megapixel sensor. The garaged USI stylus provides 45 minutes of usage time with 15 seconds of charging. The battery pack is of 27Whr battery that offers 11 hours of battery life.
The laptop comes with a Titan C Security chip and is US MIL-STD 810H military standard grade certified. There is also an extra solid cover that provides more defence when drops or other mishaps happen. The flexible standard that is attached to its back can be adjusted according to the comfortability of the user.
