Xiaomi Mix Flip Flips the Script, Headed for Global Markets

Xiaomi Mix Flip

Rumors are swirling about a potential global launch for the Xiaomi Mix Flip, the company’s first foray into clamshell foldable phones. While Xiaomi remains tight-lipped, a recent discovery in the IMEI database hints at a broader rollout.

Eagle-eyed tech sleuth Erencan Yılmaz (@erenylmaz075) spotted the Mix Flip listed with the model number 2405CPX3DG. The key detail here is the “G” at the end, which typically signifies a “global” variant intended for international markets. This stands in contrast to the 2405CPX3DC model number associated with the rumored Chinese version.

If these rumors hold true, the Mix Flip could shake up the foldable phone scene, offering an alternative to established players like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Oppo Find N3 Flip, and Motorola Razr 40 lineup. However, it’s worth noting that some reports suggest the phone might skip India and Japan. This would be a departure from Xiaomi’s previous foldable phones, which have all been China-exclusive.

Expected Specs and Release Window

The Mix Flip is expected to join the Xiaomi Fold 4 in a Q3 2024 launch. Leaks suggest it will boast a 1.5K resolution display, a sizable 4,900mAh battery, and a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor at its core. Camera-wise, a dual rear setup featuring a 50MP main sensor and a 60MP secondary sensor with 2x optical zoom is rumored. A 32MP selfie camera is also expected. To round things out, the Mix Flip is tipped to support 67W fast charging.

While the official announcement is still awaited, the IMEI database listing adds fuel to the fire of a global Mix Flip launch. Stay tuned for further developments on this potentially game-changing foldable phone.
