Tesla brings up an AI-powered humanoid robot

Tesla Bot, which is Tesla’s next ambitious project is a humanoid robot. Elon Musk revealed the robot at the company’s AI Day event. Tesla is working on a robot that is friendly, and slower, and weaker than humans so that humans can outrun and overpower it- just in case if anything bad happens.

The robot or the Tesla Bot will be powered by an artificial intelligence system that is different from the Autopilot technology that the company uses on its vehicles. Musk said that the robot will be able to perform many tasks which are dangerous for humans to handle without having to install step-by-step instructions. It will also be made to follow simple commands and simple tasks like attaching bolts and buying groceries and other menial tasks.

During the event, only the image of the robot was shown. It is evident that the company has a solid vision of what it will look like. It will be 5’8” tall and will weigh 125 pounds. The weight is considerably reduced by making use of lightweight materials to build the robot. In place of a face, the robot will have a screen that can display useful information. The top speed of the robot will be 5mph, which is just higher than the average human walking speed. It can also carry loads weighing up to 45 pounds.

Musk hopes that the prototype of the Tesla Bot can be achieved by next year. But in ambitious projects like this, it won’t matter if there is a delay.
