Bethesda’s latest “Starfield” update introduces the off-road REV-8 vehicle and enhanced frame rate options for Xbox Series S players. Announced via Bethesda’s X page and showcased in a new YouTube trailer, these updates bring exciting features to the game.

The REV-8 is a rugged, all-terrain vehicle designed for exploration across the universe. Equipped with a mounted turret for dealing with enemies and thick armor for protection, it’s built to handle hostile encounters. The vehicle also includes rear boosters for quick escapes and undercarriage boosters that allow you to glide over gaps and canyons. Plus, it has a seat for Vasco, ensuring your companion can remind you when you’re speeding.

Players can acquire the REV-8 from the ship technician, and it will be available near their ship upon purchase.

In addition to the new vehicle, the update offers Xbox Series S players enhanced display settings, including frame rate options at 30, 40, 60, or uncapped fps. Even without a variable refresh rate (VRR) display capable of 120Hz, the 30 and 60 fps settings will still function. Players can also prioritize either visual quality or performance while maintaining their chosen frame rate, with Bethesda recommending a performance-first approach for 60 fps or higher.

The update also adds the option to toggle vertical synchronization (Vsync) on or off. Vsync helps prevent screen tearing by syncing the graphics card with the monitor’s refresh rate, though disabling it can lead to higher frame rates at the cost of potential tearing.

These features were first introduced to Xbox Series X players in a May update, which also improved surface map designs for better legibility across all platforms.
