Reddit, one of the world’s most popular discussion-based platforms, is rolling out a new set of features aimed at giving users deeper insights and greater control over their comments. These updates are part of the company’s broader effort to improve engagement and user experience across the platform.
Detailed Comment Analytics Rolled Out
For the first time, Reddit users will be able to access detailed analytics for their comments. The new “Comment Insights” dashboard will show key engagement metrics such as the number of views, upvotes and downvotes, the upvote-to-downvote ratio, replies, shares, and any awards the comment has received. This move is designed to help Redditors better understand the reach and impact of their participation in discussions.
Share Comments as Posts
Another major change allows users to share individual comments as standalone posts. This gives popular or insightful comments greater visibility and makes it easier for users to spotlight meaningful contributions within or across communities.
Drafts Feature for Comments
Reddit has also introduced a drafts feature, enabling users to save up to 20 drafts for a period of 14 days. Drafts will be automatically saved, so users won’t lose their comments if they accidentally exit the app or webpage. This addition is particularly useful for longer or more thoughtful responses that users might want to revisit or revise before posting.
The platform noted that this drafts function is in its early stages and may evolve based on user feedback.
More Privacy and Flexibility
Earlier this month, Reddit also rolled out a feature that allows users to hide their comment history from public view. This gives users more control over their digital footprint, especially useful for those who value privacy or use Reddit across different interest areas.
