OnePlus has unveiled the Open Apex Edition in India, a new variant of the OnePlus Open, nearly a year after the standard model’s release. This edition features a striking new red shade with a leather finish on the back, offering an upgraded RAM and storage option along with new software features. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and includes a 7.82-inch foldable inner display and a 6.31-inch AMOLED cover screen.

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition is priced at Rs. 1,49,999, featuring 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage. It is available in the new Crimson Shadow color with a leather back panel. For comparison, the original OnePlus Open was launched last October at Rs. 1,39,999 for the 16GB RAM + 512GB storage model, offered in Emerald Dusk and Voyager Black shades.

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition runs on Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 and boasts a 7.82-inch (2,268×2,440 pixels) 2K Flexi-fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED inner display and a 6.31-inch (1,116×2,484 pixels) 2K LTPO 3.0 Super Fluid AMOLED cover screen. The foldable phone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, with RAM expandable up to 12GB.

Similar to the standard variant, it includes a Hasselblad-tuned triple camera setup: a 48-megapixel Sony LYT-T808 CMOS primary camera, a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B sensor with 3X optical zoom and 6X in-sensor zoom, and a 48-megapixel Sony IMX581 ultra wide-angle camera. It also features a 20-megapixel primary selfie camera and a 32-megapixel secondary camera.

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition introduces a new VIP mode, activated by moving the Alert Slider to the top position, which blocks access to cameras, microphones, and other features for enhanced privacy. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, A-GPS, QZSS, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on the device include an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, e-compass, flick-detect sensor, and ambient light sensor. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports face unlock for authentication, along with an X-axis motor.

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition is equipped with a 4,805mAh battery supporting 67W SuperVOOC charging.
