
MG Motor India formally launched its latest electric car, the Comet EV, in India today at Rs 7.98 lakh. Though featuring a boxy design, the MG Comet looks very distinct. MG Comet measures 2,974mm in length, 1,505 mm in width and 1,640mm in height. It rides on a 2,010mm long wheelbase and gets a turning radius of 4.2 meters.
The Coment is MG’s second electric vehicle in India after the ZS EV. The Comet is a rebranced version of Wuling Air EV. Wuling is MG’s sister brand.
The car 17.3 KWH battery claims to offer 230 km range on single charge. According to MG, the battery has gone through 16 safety tests and is IP67 rated for water and dust resistance. The electric motor promises 42 ps of power and 110 Nm torque and comes with digital key which you can share with up to two people. The Comet has 26.04CM cluster and 26.04CM infotainment systems. Its dual tone interior has smart storage spaces.
It has Dual Front Airbags, ABS + EBD, Reverse Parking Camera, Rear Parking Sensors, LED Rear fog lamp, Follow me home headlamps, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (Indirect), Front & Rear Seat belt reminder, Driver & Co-Driver Seat Belt with Load Limiter, Manual Parking Brake, Manual Day/Night IRVM, Power Adjust ORVM, Manual AC & Heater, Remote Central Locking, etc.
