Microsoft has announced in a tweet that all of the Windows Phone 8 Lumia devices will get Windows 10 upgrade, when it releases in the future. The tweet says that:
@_Y06_ There will be Windows 10 upgrades for all Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices 🙂 And we will release new Windows 10 models in the future!

Earlier reports suggest that the company will release the developer preview of the mobile version of Windows 10 in January 2015. There are also talks that although the upcoming OS will land on all the Windows Phone 8 Lumia devices, but not all the features will be available on the low-tier smartphones.
The rumors says that the Windows 10’s mobile version will feature split-screen multi-tasking for handsets with 4.9-inch or larger displays. It will also feature actionable notification which will let users interact and respond without opening the respective app.
When Microsoft had announced Windows Phone 8, the devices running Windows Phone 7 weren’t eligible for upgrade due to a major kernel change. The users were not happy with Microsoft for this decision. But this time the company is taking care of its old users as well, by allowing upgrade.
