Microsoft has started testing its much-anticipated Copilot for Gaming app, an AI-powered assistant designed to enhance the gaming experience. The beta version of the app is now available for mobile users and offers features aimed at helping gamers improve their skills and navigate gameplay challenges more efficiently.
With this new assistant, players can interact using voice or text to ask questions related to game controls, strategies, Xbox account details, and even game recommendations. Whether you’re stuck in a tricky level or looking for advice during a multiplayer battle, the assistant is built to provide support in real-time.
The launch of this AI tool reflects a growing trend in the gaming industry, where companies are investing in intelligent systems that could eventually replace traditional strategy guides. Such tools aim to act as real-time companions, offering tactical insights while players are mid-game.
Microsoft has designed the app to serve as a second screen, especially useful when playing on Xbox consoles. According to the Xbox development team, the assistant can detect which game you’re playing and tailor its responses accordingly. It can also provide helpful links or offer account-specific information like your gameplay history and achievements.
The beta version is currently available through the Xbox app’s preview build, which is accessible in over 50 countries, including India. Users on Android can download the Xbox beta app from the Google Play Store, while iOS users who already have the beta installed can begin testing immediately. However, new downloads of the beta app are currently restricted on iOS.
Feedback is a key part of this trial phase. Users can rate responses and flag any inaccuracies to help improve the assistant’s performance.
Microsoft has also announced plans to extend Copilot for Gaming to Game Bar on Windows PCs and eventually roll it out across the full Xbox app for a broader audience.
