Google Chat brings inclusion based emojis with gender-neutral options

Google Chat has brought in a new update for its set of emojis. It is designed in such a way that it will boost the diversity and inclusion quotient of expression-based communication. The feature was rolled out on August 2nd and is now available on Android devices. For the web and iOS versions, the feature will be available in the next few weeks. Google has also recently announced its own processor Tensor for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones.

The current set of emojis is being updated to Emoji 13.1 version. The company has added that the new set will also have a gender-neutral option for emojis that can be modified according to gender. The skin tone and gender preferences can be stored for future use for individual emojis.

The feature is expected to reach all devices within 15 days. Now it is available to Google Workspace customers and G Suite Basic and Business customers.

Tensor, which is the tech giant’s in-house processor specially designed for smartphones will feature in Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones and will substitute the Qualcomm processors that were used in Google’s phones.
