The CMF Phone 1 is set to be launched soon as the inaugural smartphone from CMF, a sub-brand of Nothing. Officially confirmed by CMF by Nothing, the new handset’s moniker and imminent release were announced, along with a teaser highlighting a key design element. CMF, led by OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei, focuses on innovative designs. Previous reports have speculated that the CMF Phone 1 might be a rebranded version of the Nothing Phone 2a, which debuted in March this year, but with a distinct design.

Launch Confirmation and Pricing

CMF by Nothing confirmed the imminent arrival of the CMF Phone 1 in a post on X, suggesting it will debut as an entry-level smartphone. An earlier leak indicated that the CMF Phone 1 could be priced around Rs. 12,000 in India, although official launch plans in the country have not been announced yet.

Design Teaser

While detailed specifications have not been fully disclosed, a teaser image shared in the announcement revealed an orange faux-leather panel with a circular dial in one corner, reminiscent of the design found on the CMF Buds charging case. On the TWS earphones case, this dial functioned as a lanyard holder, though its purpose on the CMF Phone 1 remains unknown. Notably, the Glyph interface, a hallmark of Nothing smartphones including the Phone 2a, has not been featured in any CMF Phone 1 teasers or leaks.

Leaked Specifications and Features

Leaked details suggest that the CMF Phone 1 will feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED screen with thick bezels and will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM. The phone is expected to offer 128GB and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage options and run on NothingOS 2.6.0, a version not yet publicly available.

In terms of optics, the CMF Phone 1 is likely to sport a dual rear camera setup with two 50-megapixel sensors, one primary and one wide-angle, and a 16-megapixel front camera. Additionally, it is anticipated to house a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

As the launch of the CMF Phone 1 approaches, more official details and specifications are expected to be revealed, setting the stage for its entry into the market.
