At this year’s Computex, Asus has introduced notable GPU upgrades across its popular gaming laptop lineup, equipping several existing models with the new NVIDIA RTX 5060 graphics card. While the overall design and core features of these devices remain mostly unchanged, the internal hardware boost brings enhanced gaming capabilities.

Key Laptop Upgrades

The ROG Strix G16, Zephyrus G14, and the TUF Gaming series (F16, A16, and A18) are among the models now powered by the RTX 5060. This graphics card brings a solid performance uplift, especially for users looking to game or create content on the go.

TUF A14 Tweaks

One of the subtle improvements comes to the TUF A14, where Asus has introduced an upgraded thermal system. A new air intake through the keyboard helps keep surface temperatures lower, enhancing comfort during extended gaming sessions. Additionally, Asus confirms that users can now achieve a peak 130W total system power draw in Manual Mode — giving more headroom to both CPU and GPU for intense workloads.

ROG Strix G16

The ROG Strix G16 will offer variants with either the Intel Core i7-14650HX or the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX. Although the Intel chip is not the latest Core Ultra series, it remains a competent choice for gamers. The AMD models pair well with the RTX 5070 Ti, making them a high-performance option for competitive gaming. The laptops come equipped with 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and Full HD+ displays (1920×1200). The Intel version runs at 144Hz and supports Wi-Fi 7, while the AMD variant hits 165Hz with Wi-Fi 6E.

Zephyrus G14

The Zephyrus G14 is another suitable fit for the RTX 5060, thanks to its thermal design that supports a TGP of up to 110W. The model priced at ₹1.49 lakh (approx.) includes the 5060 GPU, AMD Ryzen AI 9 270 processor, 16GB RAM, and 1TB storage. A more affordable option with the Ryzen 9 8945HS is also available. While higher-end RTX 5080 configurations are offered, they may be overkill given the limited thermal headroom of this chassis.

TUF Gaming Series

Asus also brings the RTX 5060 to its more affordable TUF Gaming F16 and A18 models. The F16 pairs the GPU with a 14th Gen Intel Core processor and a 1080p 165Hz display, starting around ₹1.27 lakh. The A18, which is larger and powered by a previous-gen AMD Ryzen 7 260, is expected to launch by August, priced around ₹1.32 lakh.

Accessory Launch: ROG Bulwark Dock

Alongside laptops, Asus unveiled the ROG Bulwark, a new docking station designed primarily for the ROG Ally handheld gaming device. However, it also supports smartphones, laptops, and other handheld consoles.

The dock features:

  • An adjustable stand (0° to 90° angle)
  • Ports including: 3.5mm jack, three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, Ethernet, HDMI 2.1, and two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2
  • Support for 4K output at 144Hz, compatible with ROG Ally and the upcoming Ally X

This accessory positions Asus as a brand committed to building a flexible and future-ready gaming ecosystem.

Bottom Line

Asus continues to cater to a wide spectrum of gamers — from entry-level users to performance seekers — by offering incremental but important upgrades. With the RTX 5060 and 5070 Ti now powering a range of devices, gamers in India can look forward to enhanced graphics, smarter thermals, and broader device compatibility, all while keeping budgets in check.
