Amazon has announced plans to invest approximately ₹1,940 crore (around $233 million) into its Indian operations to enhance its logistics network, introduce advanced technology tools for its delivery system, and expand welfare initiatives for employees and delivery partners.
The company stated that this funding will help boost its efforts to cover every pin code in India, aiming for faster and more efficient deliveries across urban and rural regions alike.
According to Amazon, the investment will increase processing capabilities, speed up order fulfilment, and improve overall operational efficiency throughout its supply chain in the country.
Part of the funds will go towards ongoing programs designed to support delivery associates and contractual staff. These include the expansion of rest areas for delivery agents, access to financial literacy sessions, scholarships for the children of warehouse employees, and medical assistance for truck drivers.
Amazon also highlighted its work on developing new software solutions to assist delivery partners with navigation, enhance safety measures, and improve the end-to-end delivery experience.
