Adobe has taken another step forward in its bid to become a leading platform for AI-powered creativity. After unveiling a revamped version of its Firefly web app in April, the company has now launched dedicated Firefly mobile apps for both iOS and Android. These apps aim to make generative AI tools more accessible to users on the go, offering a seamless experience across devices.

AI Models from Adobe, OpenAI, Google & More

The new Firefly mobile app allows users to create visuals using not only Adobe’s in-house AI models for image and video generation but also third-party models from industry leaders like OpenAI (DALL·E), Google (Imagen 3 and Veo 2), and Flux (Flux 1.1 Pro). This diverse integration empowers creators with more choice and creative flexibility.

Using natural language prompts, users can generate still images, convert photos into short videos, and make precision edits using features like Generative Fill and Generative Expand. These capabilities mirror the web version of Firefly and ensure continuity across Adobe’s platforms.

Cross-Device Collaboration with Creative Cloud

For those subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud, projects created on the Firefly mobile app can be saved in the cloud, allowing them to be accessed later through Adobe’s desktop or web apps. This is especially useful for Indian professionals and students looking to maintain workflow flexibility across devices.

Support for More Third-Party Models

In addition to existing integrations, Adobe has now added support for more advanced AI models including:

  • Flux.1 Kontext by Black Forest Labs
  • Ideogram 3.0 by Ideogram
  • Gen-4 Image by Runway

These additions offer even more creative depth to users exploring different styles and formats of content generation.

Firefly Boards Gets Video Generation Capabilities

Adobe is also enhancing Firefly Boards, its collaborative whiteboarding and ideation tool. The platform now allows users to generate AI-driven videos, using Adobe’s own models or those from its competitors. This feature aims to simplify brainstorming and content development in teams, whether for marketing campaigns, product design, or educational content.

Strong Growth in AI Adoption

According to Adobe, users have already generated over 24 billion media assets using Firefly tools. The company attributes a 30% quarter-over-quarter increase in new subscribers to the rising popularity of its AI-powered features.

What This Means for Indian Creators

India’s fast-growing digital content ecosystem, from influencers and educators to designers and filmmakers, stands to benefit significantly from these advancements. With mobile access to sophisticated AI tools, Adobe Firefly makes professional-grade content creation more democratic and efficient—especially for users working with limited resources or on tight schedules.
