Yu to launch Yunicorn flagship smartphone tomorrow

Yu Televentures, a sub brand of Micromax, is all set to announce its next flagship ‘Yu Yunicorn’ smartphone at an event to be held tomorrow (May 31) in New Delhi.

Yu Yunicorn was to be launched on May 19, but it was postponed due to the election results of five states which were announced on that date.

Currently, Yu Yutopia is the flagship smartphone of the company and it has a price tag of Rs 24,999.

The upcoming Yu Yunicorn is now expected to be the new flagship of the company and it is in all likelihood will have top-end specifications, surpassing that of its predecessor. Of course, a higher price tag is also expected accordingly.

As of now company has not revealed the features and specifications on its flagship smartphone. However, as per teaser posted on social media platforms, the Yu Yunicorn smartphone will be available for purchase exclusively through Flipkart.

Last month, Yu Televentures launched the Yu Yureka Note in India at Rs 13,499. The Yureka Note has 6-inch Full HD Display, a Mediatek MT 6753T octa core processor, 3GB RAM, fingerprint scanner (at the back), 4000mAh battery, 13 megapixel rear camera and 5 mega pixel front camera, Dual Speakers with NXP smart PA, and Gorilla Glass 3 display Protection.

Running on Android Lollipop 5.1.1, the new smartphone gives users the access to a number of features including voice search, Google Drive, Hangouts for video calls, smart contact prioritization etc.
