Xolo has launched its second smartphone running on HIVE UI, named the Play 8X-1200. Its first device based on this UI was 8X-1000, which was launched last week. The Play 8X-1200 features a 5-inch full HD IPS 1080p display and is powered by a 2GHz MediaTek MT6592T “true” octa-core processor paired with Mali450 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It also includes 32GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,300mAh battery. Connectivity options are dual-SIM card slot, 3G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The software under the hood is Android 4.4 KitKat. The device is priced at Rs 19,990 and will be up against other octa-core smartphones like the Karbonn Titanium Octane Plus, and the Micromax Canvas Knight A350 among others.
