Xiaomi recently announced that its next product, the Mi Max, would be unveiled at an event in China on May 10th. Now the company has revealed that its new MIUI 8 ROM based on Android Marshmallow will be launched alongside the Mi Max next month. The brand has also confirmed that its next-gen Mi Band 2 fitness tracker will also be unveiled on May 10th.
Xiaomi has released a video of MIUI 8 showcasing the new integrated notification bar in the new firmware. It appears that the notification interface will continue to offer the same icons on MIUI 7. In addition to a new design and interface, MIUI 8 will also sport a new version of the Notes application.
As for the Mi Max, the phone is expected to arrive with a 6.4-inch full HD display, and will be powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC, aided by 2-gigs of RAM. Its other rumoured specs include a fingerprint sensor, 16GB of expandable memory, 16MP/5MP cameras, and a 5,000mAh battery.
