Warner Bros. has announced the acquisition of Player First Games, the developer behind the popular free-to-play platform fighter MultiVersus. This acquisition aligns perfectly with MultiVersus’ roster, which features characters from Warner Bros. properties such as Batman, Bugs Bunny, Agent Smith from The Matrix, and Rick and Morty.

Player First Games will continue to operate with co-founders Tony Huynh and Chris White at the helm, reporting to Carlos Barbosa, Vice President and Studio Head of Warner Bros. Games. Huynh expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating it should be beneficial for the future of MultiVersus. While there are no specific announcements about upcoming content, Player First Games has a track record of regularly adding new characters to the game.

MultiVersus is currently available on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with crossplay support across these platforms. Although the game is not yet available on the Nintendo Switch, this may change with the potential release of the Switch 2.
