Tesla has introduced new accessories for the Cybertruck, including a $300 tailgate shield. This custom-made padding is designed to hang off the tailgate, protecting it from any equipment you might be hauling.
It’s quite ironic to see Tesla offering protection accessories for the Cybertruck, especially when one of its promotional videos features someone shooting at it. The vehicle was also showcased to withstand a sledgehammer during its debut. However, for those who frequently transport items like road or mountain bikes, the shield could prevent scratches and other cosmetic damage to the tailgate. To mount the pad, you need to insert its straps into the tailgate gap while it’s halfway open, so a friend’s assistance might be necessary.
Additionally, Tesla is now selling a $100 jumpseat for the Cybertruck. Up to three jumpseats can fit on the tailgate, even with the shield attached. Tesla recommends the jumpseat for tailgating parties, picnics, sporting events, and other outdoor activities. Once the event is over, the collapsible seats can be folded up for easy storage.
