Sony has launched the SRS-XB3 speaker on 2 May for Rs 12,990. The speaker is designed for electronic dance music and features Extra Bass technology. The one-touch Extra Bass button starts processing the audio signal to boost the bass and create a high impact sound. The speaker is water resistant, and can resist light splashes. The deep bass is achieved with a powerful magnet and a long drive.
The speaker pairs with devices over Bluetooth or NFC. The speakers can be set up in multiple configurations. A single speaker can be placed vertically or horizontally on any surface. Two of these wireless speakers can be paired up and used together.
The speaker additionally functions as a portable battery. Smartphones or other devices can be charged with a USB cable connected to the speaker. The speaker is powered by an impressive 8800 mAh battery. Sony indicates the continuous playback time as 24 hours. The speakers are available in six colours, namely red, yellow, green, blue, Light brown and black. Availability of particular colours though, varies by region.
