Pokemon GO’s next fashion week will feature Shiny Furfrou

Pokemon GO is hosting another Fashion Week, this time featuring the game’s most fashionable monster: Furfrou! The focus of this week’s events is mostly on aesthetics. This means a plethora of avatar items, unique costume Pokemon, and a new system that allows specific Pokemon to change their appearance.

Furfrou will be seen in the wild in its Natural Trim at launch. That’s a chocolate brown-skinned white dog. A Shiny Furfrou will appear in the game at some point, but it will not be activated during this event. The images are in the game files, but Niantic will almost definitely hold off on releasing the Shiny until a Furfrou Community Day.

Furfrou Natural will be available all over the world. Matron Trim and Dandy Trim are the only other Furfrou Trims that will be available worldwide (for the time being). These trims are available right out of the box with a fresh Natural Furfrou! Each Furfrou Form Change costs 10,000 stardust and 25 Furfrou Candy.

You’ll need to be in a specific part of the world if you want to find any other trim. If you live in North or South America, you’ll be able to get a Debutante Trim. The Star Trim is for Asia-Pacific, La Reine Trim is for France, Kabuki Trim is for Japan, and Pharoah Trim is for Egypt. A Heart Trim will also be available, but it won’t be available at launch. Shiny Butterfree, Shiny Sneasel, Shiny Smoochum, Shiny Kirlia, Shiny Shinx, Shiny Croagunk, and Shiny Blitzle are all likely to appear during this event. This week is FASHION WEEK, thus each of these Pokemon will only be seen in their Costume versions.

Without its attire, Shiny Blitzle will be accessible as a Shiny Pokemon for the first time AFTER this event is completed. This is an odd situation because no Shiny Pokemon’s first release coincides with a costume festival. It’s possible that this is the first time it’s happened. Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf, all possibly Shiny Pokemon, will be seen in 5-star raids this week. Sneasel and Shinx, the 1-star raid Pokemon, will be Shiny and always Costumed. Butterfree and Kirlia, both 3-star raid Pokemon, are in the same boat.

This week, get all of your 7km eggs because they’ll have Shiny Alolan Meowth, Shiny Galarian Meowth, Shiny Costumed Smoochum, and Shiny Costumed Shinx in them (and the non-shiny iterations of these Pokemon, too.) Everything starts on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 (today).
