OnePlus on Thursday released two new devices. These include their latest smartphone in the Nord series, OnePlus Nord 2 5G, and earbuds OnePlus Buds Pro.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G is better in terms of its earlier variant in terms of primary camera, battery, and fast charging. It is also OnePlus’s first camera to have MediaTek SoC. The price for the 6GB + 128GB variant is set at Rs.27,999 and the 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs.29,999. The third variant of 12GB + 256GB comes at Rs. 34,999. The three colour variants are Blue Haze, Gray Sierra, and Green-Wood. The phone can be grabbed starting from July 28th. Earlier access to the sale is exclusively for Amazon Prime members and OnePlus Red Cable Club members.
The smartphone runs on Android 11 with OxygenOS 11.3. the 6.43-inch full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED display has a 20:9 aspect ratio with a 90Hz refresh rate. The MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC is paired with 12GB LPDDR4x RAM. The triple rear cameras consist of a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with an f/1.88 lens and optical image stabilization. It also includes an 8MP secondary sensor and a 2MP monochrome sensor. It enables 4K video recording with in-built options for Super Slow Motion video recording, Time-Lapse, Video editor, etc.
The selfie camera has a 32MP Sony IMX615 camera with an f/2.45 lens. The device comes with up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage with connectivity options such as 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/A-GPS/NavIC, NFC, and USB Type-C port. The in-display fingerprint sensor comes along with other sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. It also has dual stereo speakers and noise cancellation support. It has a 4500mAh battery which supports 65W fast charging.
OnePlus Buds Pro is priced at EUR 149 (approx. Rs.13,100). It will come in two colours- Glossy White and Matte Black. The earbuds are launched in Europe and will be available from August 25th. Indian availability is yet to be notified. It has been provided with active noise cancellation with three distinct modes- Extreme, Faint, and Smart. There is also a three-microphone setup with a custom noise reduction algorithm to filter unwanted noise. It has also provided Dolby Atmos support but it will be limited to some of the latest OnePlus flagships. The Zen Mode Air offers a list of white noises that aid in reducing stress. The OnePlus Audio ID customizes music playback based on users’ sensitivity towards different sounds.
OnePlus Buds Pro is both dust and water-resistant. The charging case contains a USB Type-C and wireless charging. Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity is enabled and users can also access some features using the HeyMelody app. The battery is expected to deliver 38hours of battery life and claims to offer 10 hours of playback after 10 minutes of charging.
