LG has expanded its UltraGear range of gaming hardware by launching the LG UltraGear Gaming Speaker GP9. The device has a unique design complemented by RGB lighting. The company claims that the device will offer three-dimensional, game-optimised sound and easy controls. It will also be compatible with PCs and the latest consoles. The device features a built-in Hi-Fi Quad DAC (ES9038PRO). It is also Hi-Res Audio certified.
The price for the LG UltraGear Gaming Speaker GP9 is KRW 549,000 (approximately Rs. 34,700). It will be available in countries like South Korea and the US, and in select markets in Europe from this month. The Indian launch of the device is not yet notified.
The device uses the company’s own 3D Gaming Sound technology. The technology employs a head-related transfer function (HRTF) algorithm that can tune the game audio according to its genre. It also features a Game Genre Optimiser with FPS Mode, RTS Mode, racing mode, and more. It also has the DTS Headphone:X technology that offers 7.1 virtual surround sound with headsets or earphones.
In-game chatting with friends will be facilitated by built-in mics. It also features an echo-cancellation algorithm that cancels background noises. On PC, the Hi-Fi Quad DAC can function to its maximum potential. The speaker can also be used as a discrete sound card. It will also have Bluetooth connectivity and USB Type-C wired connections. LG claims that the speaker has a smaller size and can easily be tucked in between the legs of the UltraGear monitor stands.
