Lava has added two new entry-level Android phones to its portfolio with the launch of the A59 and A48. The Lava A59 has been priced at Rs 4,199, and will be available in black and white colour variants in the coming days. The Lava A48 is listed on the company’s website in white and gold hues, but there’s no word on its price and availability at the moment.
The Lava A59 sports a 4.5-inch display bearing a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. The phone utilises a 1.2GHz quad-core processor of unknown make, coupled with 512MB of RAM. It comes with 4-gigs of internal memory, further expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. Camera features include a 5-meg rear snapper and a VGA front shooter, both accompanied by LED flash. Connectivity-wise, it offers dual-SIM slots, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. A 1,750mAh battery keeps it running, which delivers up to 19 hours of audio playback on the speaker.
The Lava A48 on the other hand sports a 4-inch WVGA display, and is fuelled by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It comes with a 2-meg primary snapper with an LED flash, and a VGA selfie shooter. The phone is backed by a 1,300mAh battery. The rest of its specs are the same as the Lava A59.
The company recently also launched the Lava A67 and A79 with front-facing LED flash units for Rs 4,549 and Rs 5,699 respectively. They come with quad-core processors, expandable storage, Android 5.1 Lollipop, 3G and dual-SIM slots.
