iOS 18 has officially launched and is now available for public download as of Monday afternoon. The update is pre-installed on all new iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro models set to release on September 20. For those with compatible devices, you can install iOS 18 by navigating to Settings > General > About > Software Update and following the prompts.

To find out if your iPhone supports iOS 18, you can check the list of compatible devices. Be sure to verify if your model is eligible for the update.

Some lesser-known features spotted by our editor, Cherlynn, include Apple Maps enhancements, Calendar integration with Reminders, and expanded Tapback reactions in Messages, allowing users to see who reacted with specific emojis. Safari is also receiving a new “Highlights” feature that generates machine learning-based summaries of web pages. UK bureau chief Mat Smith, who tested early versions of iOS 18 back in July, emphasized that Apple Intelligence is a standout feature. However, Apple Intelligence won’t be available until October, with its first features arriving in a later update.

In addition to iOS 18, Apple has released updates for its other major operating systems, including iPadOS 18, visionOS 2, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, and watchOS 11. Make sure to check if your devices are eligible for these updates and that you have sufficient storage space available, as you may need to free up a few gigabytes before installing.
