Chris Hyams, the Chief Executive Officer of job search platform Indeed, has announced his decision to step down from the position. The leadership transition will see Hisayuki Idekoba, CEO of parent company Recruit Holdings, reassume the role at Indeed after a six-year hiatus.

Hyams, who joined Indeed in 2010 as Vice President of Product, shared that he will continue supporting the company as a board advisor for the remainder of the year to ensure a smooth transition.

Reflecting on his journey, Hyams noted that the platform now attracts over 300 million job seekers every month. “Our revenue has increased 200-fold, and today, someone gets hired through Indeed every 2.2 seconds. We’ve helped over 75 million people find employment—and that’s likely an underestimate,” he said.

Recruit Holdings’ CEO Idekoba praised Hyams’ leadership, saying, “Chris played a vital role in transforming Indeed from a basic job search engine into a dynamic, two-sided hiring marketplace. We deeply appreciate his contributions.”

The leadership change signals a new phase for Indeed, as it continues to expand its role in the global recruitment ecosystem.
