GoPro’s next flagship was under development. The new model’s details are made available following a leak. This time the details are leaked by WinFuture, who earlier leaked the redesigned Hero 9 Black. Based on the images the new model will be similar to the miniature cam of last year. It will have a different processor this time. It is expected to have the more powerful GP2 processor of GoPro design that ensures enhanced performance.
The company hopes that the new processor will enhance the performance of the device. It will support 5.3K videos that are shot at 60fps and 4K videos that are recorded at 120fps. The latter is better for slo-mo shots. These are improvements from the earlier 5K30 and 4K60. The new model enables recording at 2.7K and 240fps that allows more stability but less resolution. The image sensor will increase image resolution from 20 megapixels to 23 megapixels.
To improve the in-camera software stabilization for time-lapse videos, updates to HyperSmooth 4.0 and TimeWarp 3.0. It is given watertight housing up to 10 meters deep. The new model also features touch and voice controls, and also front and back displays. The pricing details are not out yet. The Hero 9 Black is priced at $399.99. Possibly, the device will be released in the coming weeks.
