Google Chrome has been updated with three new artificial intelligence (AI) features designed to improve tab management for users. On Tuesday, the Mountain View-based tech company unveiled these updates, which include a new feature for Chrome on iOS, along with two additional cross-platform capabilities. According to Google, all three features leverage its advanced AI technology. These updates come a week after the company announced a new text-to-speech feature that enables users to listen to articles and web pages effortlessly.

In a recent blog post, Google shared its plans to enhance the experience of managing multiple tabs in Chrome, which is often a challenging task for users. Over the past year, Chrome has introduced several features like tab grouping and the “similar tabs” function to address this issue. Now, Google is incorporating AI to further refine the user experience with three additional features.

The first new feature is exclusive to Chrome for iOS. Previously, the tab grouping feature was only available on Chrome for Android and desktop versions, allowing users to categorize related tabs under a common group. This functionality is now extended to iOS users, who can also assign custom colors and names to grouped tabs for easy identification and organization.

In a future update, Google Chrome will enable users to save and sync their tab groups across all devices. This will allow users to seamlessly switch between devices without losing their work or forgetting URLs. The feature is currently in development.

The third feature, still in an experimental phase, uses AI to recommend web pages for users to revisit. Based on previously opened tabs across devices, this feature will help users quickly return to useful content without needing to bookmark pages or remember web addresses.
