BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle division of the German luxury automaker, has introduced a new, highly exclusive electric scooter in India. Known as the BMW CE 04, this top-tier electric scooter is being imported as a completely built-up unit (CBU) and is set to be the priciest in its category.

The BMW CE 04, BMW Motorrad’s inaugural electric scooter in India, features a steel double loop frame and stands out due to its advanced technology, extensive safety equipment, and distinctive design. It showcases a futuristic look with large aprons and a flat body complemented by an expansive bench-like seat.

With a strong road presence, the BMW CE 04 measures 2,285mm in length and 855mm in width, and it features a bench-type seat with a standard height of 780mm, which can be adjusted to 800mm. It rides on 15-inch wheels both at the front and rear. The scooter also includes a 10.25-inch TFT display for connectivity and navigation through BMW Motorrad Connectivity, a USB Type-C charger, a ventilated storage space for smartphones, and a helmet storage compartment.

The BMW CE 04 offers three riding modes: Road, Rain, and Eco, to suit various conditions. Optional features include dynamic traction control and an ABS Pro system, while safety is enhanced by ACS and traction control. The suspension system includes a single bridge telescopic fork at the front and a single-sided swing arm with a direct hinged suspension strut at the rear.

Powered by a 15kW electric motor, the BMW CE 04 delivers 41 hp peak power at 4,900 rpm and 61 Nm torque at 1,500 rpm. It can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 120 km/h. Braking is managed by 265mm discs at both the front and rear, with standard ABS. The scooter is equipped with an 8.9 kWh battery, offering a range of 130 km on a single charge. The battery supports DC fast charging, taking 1 hour and 40 minutes for a full charge, while a standard charger requires just over 4 hours for a complete top-up.

As the most expensive electric scooter in India, the BMW CE 04 currently faces no direct competition. Customers can place orders at select authorized BMW Motorrad dealerships. Following this launch, BMW also plans to introduce the CE 02 in India in the coming months.
