BenQ has unveiled its new projector GV30. The new BenQ GV30 will be a portable projector that features a modest range of features. Although not well suited for all the requirements of a home theatre, the new projector will make it easier for taking it outside with you for watching movies with your friends some days. The projector features a 720p resolution and 300 ANSI lumens.

It comes in a round shape with a handle attached to it for easy carrying. The built-in Bluetooth speaker provides ‘extra bass’ as claimed by the company. Other than watching movies or videos, it can also be used as a Bluetooth speaker. The projector features include support for up to 720p HD resolution, a 135-degree projection angle, autofocus, and vertical keystone. It also provides HDMI and USB-C connectivity. Powered by Android TV, it will have support for wirelessly casting content. For each type of content (music, movies, games, sports, and TV shows) it will have specific audio modes.

The brightness is peaked at only 300 ANSI but a Day Time Mode is added that will make the darker image regions improve their image quality in bright ambient lighting. Image quality for BenQ GV30 will include 97% Rec., 709 colour space coverage, BenQ CinematicColor, and ‘optimized picture modes.’

The position of the projector will determine the size of the images that can vary from 30-inches to 120-inched. The company has set the most suitable range at 80-inches to 100-inches. The US market launch date has not yet been announced but in the European market, it will launch this month with a price tag of €599.
