Apple’s first Macs with its own M1 silicones were similar to the ones with the Intel. They only differed in the processors used. But the reports coming out has suggested that Apple is working on some major redesigns for its devices. Apple has already released a new version of the iMac with Apple silicon inside. The new rumours suggest that Mac mini will also witness a design refresh soon.

Some sites like 9to5Mac and MacRumors have reported that a newsletter from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that a new Mac mini with an “M1X” chip inside will make its debut in the coming months. The new chip “M1X” has not been announced yet, but it reportedly can outperform the M1 chip that Apple currently uses.

The new Mac mini will not only have a redesigned interior but will also add new ports to it. Apple focusses on more power users for this model and it will likely cost more than the current models of Apple. Therefore, Apple will keep the current M1 model as a more affordable and basic option.

The company is also working on its MacBook Pro models and is likely to introduce the redesigned models by this fall. These devices will also feature the M1X chip. It is also possible that Apple will employ the multi-colored approach that it used in the iMac this year.
