Amazon launches Fire TV Stick 4K max with Wi-Fi 6 and Dolby Vision features

Amazon has added a new model called the Fire TV Stick 4K Max to its Fire TV Stick range of streaming media players. It will be an upgraded version of the Fire TV Stick 4K. The company claims the new Fire TV Stick to be the best among all its other products. It provides faster and next-gen Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. It will also be the first Fire TV Stick to support Dolby Vision format.

In India, the price for Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max is set at Rs. 6,499. The pre-orders have begun and they will be available through Amazon.in and Amazon kiosks in select malls in the country. In the US, it is available for pre-order with a price tag of $59.99.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max features a quad-core MediaTek MT8696 SoC that is clocked at 1.8GHz along with 2GB of RAM and an IMG GE8300 GPU at 750MHz. It will improve the efficiency of the device by 40 percent than the Fire TV Stick 4K. The device will also have 8GB of onboard storage. It will also carry the MediaTek MT7921LS chipset to activate Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. This connectivity will ensure a smooth experience while streaming. It will require a compatible router to use the built-in Wi-Fi 6 support. Fire TV Stick 4K Max also possesses backward compatibility and supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac networks. It comes with support for Bluetooth v5.0 and support for pairing with compatible devices such as Bluetooth speakers, headphones, and video game controllers. To enjoy the Dolby Vision you need to have access to content in Dolby Vision format to experience the change.

The device will also support other formats including HDR10 and HDR10+. The new Fire TV Stick will also enable Dolby Atmos for an immersive sound experience on compatible TV units for select content.

A 3rd-generation Alexa Voice Remote has also been included along with the device. It was launched in March. It has specific buttons for quickly accessing Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music and Netflix. Through the remote, users can also access all their installed apps with the help of a button.

The Fire TV Stick 4K Max allows a Live View feature that enables users to run a picture-in-picture feed of their video doorbells and security cameras while playing other content on their TV. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is similar in looks to the Fire TV Stick 4K and has the same dimensions of 99x30x14mm. It weighs almost 48.4 grams which is a bit lighter than the Fire TV Stick 4K.
