In an attempt to bring more budget-friendly phones into the market, Samsung has launched a slightly upgraded version of the Galaxy M21 which came out last year. The launch took place on Wednesday.

The device has triple rear cameras and a 6000mAh battery. The price for the device starts at Rs.12,499 for the 4GB RAM+ 64GB internal storage variant. The 6GB RAM+ 128GB internal storage variant comes at a price of Rs.14,999.

Two colour options are available for the phone- Arctic Blue and Charcoal Black. The device runs on Android 11 with a One UI Core. This provides an upgraded performance from that of the earlier edition. There is dual-SIM (Nano) and the display is a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Similar to the earlier edition, it features an octa-core Exynos 9611 SoC together with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU and 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM.

The triple rear camera consists of a 48-megapixel primary sensor along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. An upgradation from the M21 that came with the ISOCELL GM1 sensor last year is made by providing the camera sensor, Samsung’s ISOCELL GM2. The front camera is 20-megapixel.

The in-built storage can be expanded with the help of a microSD card. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a headphone jack of 3.5mm. Apart from the fingerprint sensor on the back it also has an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyro, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.

The 6000mAh battery supports 18W fast charging. The device will be available on Amazon, Samsung.com and other offline retailers.
