Twitter to introduce notification banners for suspended or locked accounts

Twitter began testing notification banners

Twitter’s upcoming feature will automatically archive tweets

Twitter is working on a set of new features for quite some time. The recent addition is the notification banner notifying the user that their account has been suspended or locked. This test has begun and a banner with the notice that they can’t use Twitter because of their previous behaviour on the platform will be seen by some people. The banner says that locked accounts can be regained within a week. But for permanent suspensions, the individual has to contact the company for further procedures.

The Verge has reported that the new feature was added because many feedbacks were received by Twitter that said people realized their accounts were suspended only after they tried to add a new tweet or follow new accounts. Twitter has been working hard to remove abusive and hate content from its platform. It has also introduced new automated tools to keep hate speech and abuse away from the platform. If Twitter finalizes on adding the notification banner they will have to work even harder as there will be many accounts that will be suspended or locked because of their unlawful behaviour.
