Fossil announces Gen 6 smartwatches with Wear OS 3

Smartwatch enthusiasts are keen on knowing whether the smartwatches they are going to purchase will be upgraded to the Wear OS 3 platform powered by Samsung and Google. Fossil has announced its new Gen 6 smartwatches with the ability to upgrade to the Wear OS 3 platform.

Fossil’s Gen 6 smartwatches will have Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear 4100+ chipset. It will allow faster loading times and has support for fast charging. The battery can be charged to 80% with half an hour of charging. The watch will also have functions like heart rate tracking, a blood oxygenation sensor, and a wellness app. The watches will not have Wear OS 3 installed on it. This is because the Wear OS 3 hasn’t been released yet. The smartwatches can be upgraded to this platform after the Wear OS 3 releases. The release will probably take place in 2022.

Fossil offers a variety of designs, colours, and materials for its Gen 6 smartwatches. The prices will also vary according to the different options used. The watches are now available for pre-order on Fossil’s website. The website shows the prices of the smartwatches within a range of $299 to $319.
