BMW announces BMW i4 M50 EV as the official MotoE safety car

A safety car comes into the racing track every time a vehicle or rider meets with an accident. It slows down the racing vehicles so that the officials can clear the track. Safety cars are meant to be powerful and fast SUVs or sports cars since the racing track has a record of relatively high speed.

BMW has announced a new safety car for MotoE. The new BMW i4 M50 Safety Car is the first fully electric safety car from BMW M. It will be shortly put into the racing track for the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup at the Motorcycle Grand Prix of Austria on August 15th. The BMW i8 Safety Car which was used till now has been officially replaced.

The model will make its initial appearance there in Austria. It is based on the BMW i4 M50 which is said to launch in November. The M brand under which the BMW i4 M50 comes is known for zero emissions. Another feature of the BMW i4 M50 is the drive sound, which intends to add some emotional experience to the vehicle lovers, which is largely missing compared to a combustion-engine vehicle.

BMW i4 M50 has an electric motor on both the front and back axles, with a total output of 544 horsepower. BMW has not given any details on the performance of the car. The car, according to BMW, uses the perfect basis for a safety car in MotoE which is the BMW M-specific chassis technology for handling performance.
