Apple's macOS Monterey beta 5 released to developers

Apple had said that it enabled Universal Control in its macOS Monterey beta 4 but the statement was quickly withdrawn. Now Apple has released macOS Monterey beta 5 to developers and still, there is no sign of the much-awaited feature. It was expected that beta 5 will have this feature.

macOS Monterey beat 5 will be available through OTA for developers who are already enrolled. It can also be downloaded from Apple’s Developer website if the user hasn’t been running the beta versions.

The new macOS 12 Monterey will have a completely redesigned Safari, Shortcuts app on the Mac, new SharePlay feature on FaceTime, a new Focus mode, Quick Notes, AirPlay to Mac among many other features. Apple had introduced some important changes to the default Safari in the third beta and in the fourth beta, it added Live Text on Intel Macs along with a Universal Control fakeout. After the false start of Universal control in beta 4, it was expected that beta 5 could bring the feature to start testing.

It is advised that one should not early betas on their primary machines as the issues with bugs and performance will be common in the early beta versions. If you really want to test it, then use a secondary Mac if possible.
