Yahoo is planning to stop the ability to login through Google and Facebook accounts. This is said to be applicable for all of its services including Fantasy Sports, photo-sharing site Flickr, tumblr, etc, while the change has already happened on the Fantasy Sports service. The company said that, “Yahoo is continually working on improving the user experience,” and this change in the process “will allow us to offer the best personalized experience to everyone”.
The company has started allowing third-party logins in 2010 under the reign of CEO Carol Bartz. Since Marissa Mayer took over the reign of Yahoo, many changes were implemented to get back to its glory days and this could be one of them. Without specifying any timeframe, Yahoo has said that the Google and Facebook login buttons will eventually disappear from all of its services.
