Samsung’s new foldables Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 have the One UI 3.1.1 update. It allows the phones to add a number of new features to the device. Now the company has decided to share some of its features with older foldables like Fold 2, Z Flip, and the original Galaxy Fold.

The added features include the new Drag and Split feature. This feature allows users to open a link by tapping and dragging it. The link will be opened to the side of the original webpage or message. It will be available on all five models now. The larger Fold phones will include the adjustable app windows that help in using multiple apps at once. In the multitasking mode, this feature will allow the users to adjust the height and width of the individual apps. The earlier models will now have an automatic rotating app function, custom aspect ratios, and enable a split view for viewing the messaging apps.

Samsung has added the “Flex mode” option in Z Fold 2 and earlier Z Flips. This mode displays the video content on side of the folded display and the controls for playback on the other side. Samsung has always updated its old foldables to keep up with the new features on the newer models. When Galaxy Z Fold 2 was launched last year with new features, a similar update was given to its older models. The company is working hard to keep all the models relevant in the market with the addition of new features. The One UI 3.1.1 update has begun its rollout to Fold 2 and Z Flip owners yesterday and the original Galaxy Fold owners will have their hands on the update within a week.
