Even though electric cars have started to claim mileage beyond 400 miles, for electric scooters the maximum range stops at 200 miles. But the new Mob-ion’s new TGT Electric-Hydrogen scooter claim that they can expand this range to 248 miles.

Mob-ion is a French electric design and innovation firm. The scooter was introduced in June 2021 and was benefitted from Mob-ion’s partnership with the energy company STOR-H. The hydrogen cell technology developed by STOR-H was used in Mob-ion’s TGT. The electric motor can be charged by replacing the flask-sized hydrogen canisters.

The scooter is available in two variants- a 3kW motor and a 6kW motor. There is also an option to choose between a 10kWh Lithium Ion Phosphate battery and a 16kWh Nickel/Maganese/Cobalt (NMC) battery. It is when the NMC battery is combined with the smaller motor, the scooter attains a 248miles range. Other combinations offer mileage in the range of 93 and 155. The batteries are denser and hence extend the warranty from four years to eight years. The company claims that the vehicle is suitable for city travellers or delivery agents. It has an accident detection system in addition to GPS.

The company will begin production by the end of 2021 and the scooter will be priced at $6,858 for the LFP-equipped model and the NMC-equipped will cost around $11,586.
