Intex Technologies has launched an entry-level smartphone, named Cloud X1+ for Rs 2,990. The phone targets first time smartphone buyers in rural areas. The company claims that it is the cheapest 3.5-inch device and will be available in black and white.
Along with Cloud X1+, Intex has also launched another 3G smartphone at a price of Rs 4,490. Both these devices are based on Android platform and the company expects that the rural population in India who wish an upgrade from their feature phones will adopt these devices. The devices will be available at more than 40,000 retail outlets, several hypermarkets and other leading e-commerce portals from today.
“These devices come embedded with advanced features to enhance the user’s overall experience of a smartphone. These phones are a perfect blend of style and technology at rock- bottom price,” the Business Head of the Mobile vertical at Intex, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, said.
