Google is expanding its School time feature to more devices, allowing parents to restrict functionalities on their children’s devices during specified hours, such as school hours or any other time when screen time should be limited. Through the Family Link parental controls app, parents can set School time hours on select Android phones, tablets, and Samsung Galaxy Watches. However, Google has not detailed which specific devices will receive this update. Initially launched on the Fitbit Ace LTE smartwatches in May, School time helps minimize distractions by setting a dedicated home page with limited notifications. Parents can choose which apps remain accessible and allow texts and calls from specific contacts, ensuring that kids can focus when needed while still being reachable in emergencies.

Family Link, Google’s platform for managing children’s mobile activity, was redesigned in 2022. For those in the Apple ecosystem, similar features can be found with Apple’s Schooltime feature.
